01/09/2002: "in and around nairobi"

here are some pics in and around nairobi, that i took as i went about my business day to day. they were taken mostly with a disposable camera, which was the only thing i could safely carry and display in generally insecure downtown nairobi. upside of using disposable camera: could take pictures quickly and discreetly without attracting attention. downside: general lack of sharpness of results.

thanks for the comments, maina and jason. it was so easy to find and take shots in nairobi, everything looked so new and interesting from a photography perspective. i found myself wanting to stop the car every 5 min to take some really interesting scene or person. i would really like to return and spend more than 3 weeks and take pictures over time to do justice to how visually interesting kenya is.
